What´s new

October 27th - 29th 2023, Catania, Sicily, Italy

At the end of October 2024, the St. Ladislaus Choir participated in the 3rd edition of The Sicily International Choir Festival on the east coast right under the Etna Volcano.

In a competition of 13 choirs from Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Slovakia we performed in three festival concerts in Taormina, Messina and Acireale. We returned home full of experiences from fascinating historical towns, a great hotel and perfect organisation. We are already looking for another festival in the future.

Žlutice, Czech Republic

5. - 8. 5. 2023

At the beginning of May 2023, we travelled to a small town Žlutice by Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic, close to German borders, to visit our friend, local priest Pavol Kavec, originally from Rajec, who invited us to celebrate his upcoming anniversary with him.

Antonio Vivaldi: Gloria

Final concert 16. 4. 2023 Žilina

The second Easter Sunday is special this year - our conductor PaedDr. Eva Kyšková is graduating from her 6-year study of conducting in Musical School in Žilina.

In cooperation with the school choir and chamber orchestra, we presented a great opus of Antonio Vivaldi Gloria for soli, choir, and orchestra.

As usually, you can find the concert on youtube or on our facebook.

Christmas 2021

... was planned :)

The situation looked optimistic, we even started to rehearse... Until mass events were banned again... But we didn't let it discourage us and even if we couldn't perform live, at least in cooperation with Misericordia Choir from Žilina we recorded Slovak Christmas Mass Missa Pastoralis by Slovak composer Marian Kittner.

Performing: St. Ladislaus Choir, Misericordia Choir, and musicians Marián Štúň, Pavol Ledaj, Eva Halková, Mária Čelková, Petra Bubelínyová, Miroslava Havránková - Jurčová, Lujza Kyšková, Julianna Šimková, Matúš Dobeš.

Thanks to parish administrator Kutiš for letting us record in his church. :)

Concert Stabat mater

After a long break caused by the corona quarantine, we are back practicing, singing and concerting.

St. Ladislaus Choir of Rajec, Women Choir Smile of Prievidza and Choir Cantica Collegium Musicum of Martin and the soloists Daniela Juhasova and Martina Richter and organist Marek Dietrich performed together in the Church of Martyrdom of St. John Baptiste in Nitrianske Pravno and presented monumental opus of Giovanni Batista Pergolesi Stabat Mater.

Proceeds of this concert were used for the reconstruction of a baroque chapel on the cemetery in Nitrianske Pravno.

It was a great honour and pleasure to be a part of this performance.
